Our stay commenced with a welcome drink that set a relaxed tone. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing guests to soak in the picturesque countryside views. Breakfast offers a good mix; I particularly enjoyed the exceptional scrambled eggs on granary toast. The evening meals were consistently well-prepared, catering to various dietary requirements, with an emphasis on freshness. The room was a comfortable size and provided the essentials, including a flat-screen TV and free wi-fi which worked seamlessly. The garden area is a perfect spot to unwind, though the lack of a sun terrace didn't detract from our experience. Throckmorton balances value and comfort. It’s a viable option for those seeking a restful getaway without the hefty price tag, particularly keen on exploring nearby National Trust sites.
